| Description: | The Housing and Food Services Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Housing and Cafeteria facilities (providing services to up to 800 employees whom are all required to live on-site at our Dutch Harbor Seafood Processing Facility), while ensuring the compliance to all State and Federal Regulations and WSI’s policies and procedures.
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Specific duties include the supervision, training and scheduling of all Housing and Cafeteria staff, all hiring, terminations, counseling and disciplinary actions respective to Housing and Cafeteria employees and in accordance with WSI policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with State and Federal Laws and guidelines (regarding House Cleaning, Chemical Application, Food Preparation, Food Storage, Food Service and general Safety Practices throughout the Housing and Cafeteria departments, assignment of housing units to all WSI employees and the maintenance of relative records, inventory maintenance for all supplies necessary to equip and operate the housing and cafeteria departments (including regular inventory reviews and reporting, ordering of housing wares, furniture, cooking utensils, food, ect. and the proper discard of expired items), yearly budget proposals and staying within budget restraints, and other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants will have the ability to read / interpret documents such as safety procedures, operating / maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, prepare routine reports and correspondence as required, speak effectively before groups, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, compute rate, ratio and percentages, possess strong communication skills with coworkers, employees and outside vendors, and remain professional and respectful in stressful situations and while dealing with difficult people and / or situations. Must have knowledge of safe working practices and be able to identify, correct and report Safety Hazards. A minimum of 2 years previous work experience as manager in the Housing / Food Services (Hotel / Restaurant) industries is required and must be able to fluently communicate the English language in oral and written form.
